Hi we are new to the forum. We have an ateca 1.6Tdi which is 2 and a half years old, and we tow a caravan with it. We are thinking about changing to a 1.5Tsi Ateca FR and was wondering if anybody on here could tell us how the 1.5Tsi performs when towing a caravan?
Thanks CharlieAnn

Bulit in Spain my dealer did say Skoda factory
https://www.seat-mediacenter.com/companypages/facilitiespage/martorell-production-facility.html
I would question how old that press release is.
My dealer did admit it was built in the Skoda factory on the same lines and if you google where they are built it comes up with:-

Assembly

Czech Republic: Kvasiny
Algeria: Relizane[1]
China: Chengdu

My Ateca has all sorts of labels on componants so truly international , Czech, Romania, Hungary, Spain, etc.

oh well that sounds encouraging then. I had the same dilemma. but as I need to Tow the caravan I wanted that top view camera plus wit having children the leather seats were a must for me, so Excellence lux it was for me. the hard part was choosing the colour

I just thought they were built in Spain!! My mistake if they are built elsewhere but doesn't really matter coz the outcome will be the same!! Velvet red Ateca fr sport! 😁😁
I we are thinking of a FR for towing .May I ask how you find it ?What do you tow with it ,length of caravan and weight.thanks in advance ....Paul & Anne

Hi All,

New to the forum, but I've been lurking in the background.

Just ordered a 2.0 Tdi Xcellence Lux DSG 4Drive in Lava Blue, but apparently it's a 4-month wait at present. Still, the antici------pation will surely be worth it! Anyone tried towing heavy-ish trailers with one of these? How well do they perform with the intelligent 4wd? I aim to occasionally tow around 1.9 tonnes, partly over dry fields, so I'm really hoping the beast will cope. I know it's not a Land Rover, nor is it my current rust-heap, which would tow a house if it could get enough grip with its road tyres, but I'm hoping it'll be a good compromise.
