Hi all,

I ordered a new Ateca FR Sport at the end of Jan and have still not received confirmation from the dealer that SEAT have even acknowledged the order. Having read some of the posts on here I am getting slightly concerned over the dealers estimate of delivery. Could anyone give me an idea of how long it took SEAT from date of order to delivery cause some are saying in the order of 40+ weeks !!

My Ateca has been built and is at the port in Barcelona awaiting allocation to a ship.

There are three ships dedicated to Ateca only deliveries that sail to Sheerness or Grimsby on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

So on track for an early November delivery

Time Line:
order placed 27/06/19
order accepted by factory 22/08/19
build week allocated updated to week40 (05/09/19)
car built week 40 (30/09/19)
At port Barcelona awaiting transport week41 (08/10/19)

I hope the time line helps give people waiting for their Ateca an idea of when to expect delivery.

Thank you for this, @Furion.

I took your advice and phoned Seat (after persuading my dealer to give me my order number, which he seemed strangely reluctant to do! The upshot is that my car arrived in the UK Port of Grimsby on 5th October. Transport to my dealer has been requested and it should be with them in the next week or two (we have an extra bit of water to cross, to Northern Ireland).

This is brilliant news, as I was orginally given an estimate of mid-November, which stretched out to sometime in December. If I'm lucky, I might even get it in time for my birthday, which is at the end of this month!

Why would they ship from Barcelona - it's much further. They ship into Barcelona from a port on the Adriatic but those are for delivery to Spain.

I thought all the UK cars were shipped across the North Sea.

They come from Emden in Germany from what I've read.

Port Arthur-Transvaal 26723 Emden, Germany https://goo.gl/maps/Ju65bLBkVBqo521V9

Looking at that shot there must be thousands of cars there.

My Ateca arrived in Sheerness today....from Emden.
My wife's Arona which arrived in Sheerness last week came from Barcelona though

That's great news, Furion. Not long to wait, now!

Talked to the dealer yesterday, he said the car had been "delayed" but had left the factory on October 7 and "should be here next week."

That would make it three - four weeks later than promised.

Has anybody got compensation/good will from dealers/SEAT for delays?
See below (it won't let me delete this post for some reason!).

So my car was finally built 2nd Sept - found out today it's still sat in a port in Germany! So can't see it being here for the end of Sept now. Very disappointing (given I was "promised" it for 1st Sept after ordering 30th May). And all the updates I've had from dealer I've had to ask for - useless at keeping me informed in all honesty. Complained to Seat UK Customer Service (got an excellent agent eventually) about the delays and awaiting news of compensation tomorrow. Will let people know if I get anything.
Just a note to say Seat UK Customer Services have, again, been great today. Contacted me as promised, and were very apologetic over the fact the car has been delayed. Offered me various compensation options but took a cheque offer in the end. So if anyone in UK has had any delays with their orders (mine will be well over a month late I expect although it's now been assigned to a ship!), just give Seat UK Customer Service a ring (08085 222 222, option 7) and I am sure if you express disappointment they may compensate you too (I suppose it may depend which agent you get).
See here for compensation info. Mine ended up just over 4 weeks late. Cheque arrived yesterday funnily enough.

Picked up my Xcellence Lux 1.5 DSG this morning, 13 weeks after ordering. It's well worth the wait!
Nice, congrats, post some pics if you get a chance. 13 weeks isn't bad at all, I am still waiting at week 17, should have it next week.

Took delivery of a new SE Tech 1.5TSI on Friday November 1 - exactly 17 weeks after it was ordered and five weeks later than promised delivery.

The dealer was good enough to fit mud flaps front and back, and I got more 'good will' from SEAT.

If talking to SEAT, you may need to be persistent: the first agent I spoke to was very resistant to giving anything. I persuaded him to refer the call up the ladder and got a very helpful manager.

Got the first longish runs in yesterday, 100 miles each way and the computer showed an average mpg of 42. That's a bit less than my old 1.6TDI, but I can live with it - albeit using a lighter right foot!
