Re: Remap

Out of curiosity, I know that fitting the box will invalidate your warranty, but what about your insurance and the car's conformity with the Construction and Use regulatins? Do you need to declare it?

Re: ECO mode

Use it all the time now for urban driving where you don’t have the opportunity to flat floor the accelerator, and I reckon to get about 10% better mpg. And with the 4drive automatic box it is fast and simple to flick into sport mode if you need some instant oomph.

Re: Paint scratch repair

Looks too deep for a home-done touchup - particularly on a new car. I’ve used Chipsaway on previous cars and on my Ateca; they do a great job and at very reasonable cost.

Re: 1 month wait for a tyre

Try Black Circles. They only sell online and will confirm availability when you enquire. They use small independent local tyre shops to do the fitting.

Re: Clock

A couple if times I’ve had the clock revert to GMT when it should have been showing BST. I put it down to the car having been parked where it may well not have been able to get recepti9n from the required minimum number of satellites.

Re: Oil service due warning

Based on your comment, I had a further chat with the dealer after my last post. Slight change of advice from them as they say now that the warranty would be ok as long as I wasn’t more that 1k miles over. Thanks for your advice. And yes, the 10k interval is unusual these days but I’ll only be at 9.3...

Re: Oil service due warning

Dealer told me to just ignore the warning and come in for service on the 12 month anniversary.

Re: Brake noise when reversing

I've had it occasionally but now that you ask it has only ever been first thing in the morning. I suspect that the culprit is dust which has built up in front of the pad as you last braked moving forward which, when you reverse, is forced back against the other end of the pad with perhaps only a few...
