Re: What do you do when the key battery goes flat? - Here's what to do...

My battery failed a couple of weeks back at 18 months, fortunately in my driveway so the spare was nice and handy. One thing to remember is that your spare key is “live” and transmitting its code all the time and so it’s battery will go flat too, and so my recommendation is to replace it at the same...

You can’t turn it off. It will either show it as active or deactivated.
You can (permanently) using VCDS, OBD2 or Carista
If you’re a techie able to bypass the car’s control interface perhaps, but not if you’re and ordinary everyday driver.

Re: Front door internal handles are rubbish

They’ve obviously changed them since mine - March 2017. Wonder why they’d do that other than to save a couple of quid. Mine have good quality cushioning on a solid frame.

Re: Front door internal handles are rubbish

I’ve no issues with mine; they are at least as good as any I’ve had in other cars - including Jaguar.

Re: 19" Alloys & Tyres for sale / swap for 18" Wheels

In the first instance, is that legal given that the model approval will be for the 19in wheels and tyres? Also, the reduced circumference will also result in your speedometer probably being outwith the legal tolerance. You should at least consider hanging on to your 19ins for when you need to get th...

Re: Ateca Key just stopped Working

My key died yesterday at 20 months but remember that if you have kessy then the key is transmitting almost continuously and so the number of times that you use the key via the open and close buttons will not have a great effect on battery life. I spoke to the service manager at the dealer and he con...

Re: Coolant issue

Best to top up with the Seat approved coolant, particularly
if you are still under warranty.

Re: Coolant issue

I had the same on a cold morning last week. The coolant level was on the minimum line and I suspect the small drop was due to the coolant contracting because of the low temperature and was enough to trigger the warning. I know it’s not recommended, but I added about 100cc of water to top it up and t...
