Re: Alcantara seats

Well I stand corrected. Chocolate and Alcantara aren't an issue.

Re: Alcantara seats

Yep, Alcantara and a member of The Sticky Finger Brigade is a recipe for disaster... This is the sole reason I went for an Xcellence over an FR. Would have loved an FR, but I wouldn't have enjoyed cleaning chocolate out of the seats. :)

Re: Stop start Button

Just in case you didn't know, the configuration tool Paul mentions is a cable / dongle that reprograms the car. It is not something you can do through the infotainment unit... Search OBDEleven or VAGCom.

Re: Snow And Front Assist

Agreed, it is annoying when it stops working, especially when you have ACC as that stops working as well. My previous car, a Touareg, had 2 sensors, next to the fog lights. They looked like blank fogs and they were less susceptible to rain, but they occasionally would stop working in heavy rain. I t...

Re: Advice needed on Auto

As Fred says, when it gets the prediction correct, which is 99.5% of the time, it is quick, slick and smooth. When it gets it wrong, it isn't so quick, but it's still quicker than a manual gear change. I've learnt to use the paddles for the 0.5% of the time it gets it wrong...

Re: Advice needed on Auto

Mine is 1 2.0TDI 190 DSG, so not the same engine. I also don't think it has exactly the same gearbox, but I can't remember. They essentially use the same technology, just different models. The auto is a dual clutch box, it isn't an auto in the traditional sense as it doesn't have a torque converter....

Re: KESSY: What Security measures do you take

Didn't we establish in a previous thread that the one cycle disable is a MY18 onwards feature? If so, the Faraday Gang may have early models? Maybe they are untrusting of the feature, their own ability to use it, their own ability to remember to use it, or they just like the belt and braces approach...

Re: Rear wiper chatter

Mine arrived yesterday, £4.80 from Amazon with free delivery... It took 3 days to arrive but it's no longer available at that price. It's now £6.20 with Prime delivery.

Haven't fitted it yet as I've been ill...
