I have had my Velvet Red FRS for three weeks and am so much happier than with my 2017 Tiguan.
What's the difference?

Re: 1.5 engine software updates

I'm very happy with my 2.0Tdi Ateca and am unlikely to go back to a VAG Group petrol unless the problems are cured and its mated to a soft hybrid. 1.5 was developed to eventually use it in a hybrid, hence the advanced cooling system allowing the engine to adapt to a hybrid temperature regime. It is...

Re: 1.5 engine software updates

My car is an MY20 built December and delivered 2 weeks ago. I am experiencing both kangarooing and low power in 2nd gear, though I am still running the engine in so have been light on the throttle. I can't believe it, what's going on, are they having kangarovirus at the factory or what ??? ...

Re: Infotainment system failure

I had this once when I tired to turn it on before starting the engine. It showed the S screen and went blank. Did not response when I started the engine. Came back to normal when I stopped it and started again. Never had it since.

Re: Ateca 1.5 Xcellence Lux Automatic Engine Oil

Go for 0w20 if you care for the environment , or for 5w30 if you care about the engine.

Re: Servicing Petrol

If it is a lease car and you are not going to keep it beyond 4 years, 10K or once a year is just about right. The engine should be still in a decent condition when it changes the owner, and will leave him suffering further down the road.. If you consider buying the car and keep it for longer then fo...

Re: 1.5 engine software updates

29 pages of angst. I can't help feeling you would have all been better off buying a 2.0 TDi and enjoying vastly better fuel consumption with similar overall performance. While the 1.0TSi is as always a little gem, the 1.5 looks like an utter dog for many reasons...... 1.5 is actually a pick of the ...

Re: 1.5 engine software updates

Hello, not sure if this is the same fault as other people have experienced, but this is the story: 1.5 TSI manual, first registered December '18, I bought it two months ago with 6000 miles. Only service so far was the delivery inspection. Problem was that intermittently when pulling away at low rev...

Re: Colour choice

My car is Rodium Grey and looks great when polished up. Not much chance of that recently. My first colour choice was Jungle Green but I changed my mind (chickened out) when I couldn't find any real examples to look at. My car is now two and a half years old so no last minute colour change coming up...

Re: Ceramic coating dilemma

I am just using Gtechniq C2 liquid nano coat every other month, it takes just 5 min to apply, no hassle, no haze, no elbow grease whatsoever and it seals the paint, gives a nice hydrophobic effect and makes washing the car much easier. But then, I wash my car myself, I don't trust a street hand wash...
