Re: key fob battery error

Maybe the keys are different nowadays as my 2007 Jetta key never had a new battery in twelve years and my wifes 2006 Touran had one fitted after about ten years, none of the spare keys had new batteries either, very strange. I can understand a Kessy needing new batteries after a couple of years but ...

Re: Blanche's Third Birthday.. Now What?

Or go for a VW Tiguan with the many options available to build the car you want. My other half was thinking of an Arona but the distinct lack of options has changed her mind and now she's looking at a VW T-Cross SE with a few extra options of her choice. Sorry SEAT but your 'marketing' in the UK sti...

Re: Ateca Ordered

We have the same engine and our average over the 7800 miles from new is 48mpg. On a motorway run at 65/70 we get around 55mpg with cruise control. Over 70 it does drop markedly, short trips down A and B roads for lunch at our special place about 50mpg over a 20 mile round trip, frequently in fifth g...

Re: Rear pads and discs

If it was an Arnold Clark garage they are just trying it on. Had it a number of times with my wife's VW Touran probably because it was a womens name on the job sheet!!!!! In our case, absolutely nothing wrong with the pads and they are still fine two years later!!! They also did a brake fluid change...

Re: Daylight Running Lights, DRLs

Now had time to search the forum and found the threads about DRLs so some seem to have all lights on and a few with just the front ones on.

Daylight Running Lights, DRLs

Hi all, I seem to remember someone saying that the tail lights weren't on with DRL but just noticed today that mine are on.... I could see their reflection in the window of the house across the road. I had to check the light switch hadn't been left on from last time I was out in the dark but no, the...

Re: Windscreen condensation

We live in central Scotland, not exactly a dry place and the Ateca doesn't have condensation to any degree. the only time is maybe when one has got rained on and the screen mists up on getting in the car which quickly goes when the blower is turned up. I keep the blower at number two normally.

Re: intermittent Judder

It also happens occasionally with my wife's VW Touran 2.0tdi. It seems it's only when the nights are damp and the car was used the previous evening so was still warm, was told it could be condensation on the clutch plate which soon disappears and is fine the rest of the day. It happened just the oth...

Re: Rattle from rear suspension when hot

Does it sound like the exhaust hitting a bracket or something, might only happen when the exhaust gets hot and expands. happened to me when I fitted a new exhaust on our old petrol Golf, the fourth in about thirteen years, had to split the joint and twist the rear portion slightly and it was then ok...

Re: Are SEAT losing sales with their daft spec. policy.

I was lucky, the dealer had one car of the spec but not the engine I wanted and was able to source four or five others within the week, our first choice was the blue but this was unavailable, my personal choice was the Rhodium Grey so we had that, no options, nothing available from the dealer not ev...
