Re: Velvet Red?

Yes, that was the only production car that used it, but a lot of the concept cars also used it which was the source of the pictures I saw online. It’s a shame it didn’t look as good as it might have done. It’s probably a bit over the top for a 75 year old OAP though. Now, if it was a Cupra I could c...

Re: Velvet Red?

You're absolutely right. I wanted Samoa Orange based on many pictures I had seen online, especially the way it seems to glow in sunlight. I would not order one with seeing it in the flesh and that was just not possible. Any Ateca then was very rare let alone an orange one! I ordered silver and have ...

Re: First ever Seat

With DSG and ACC and Lane Assist it gets annoyed if you don’t hold the wheel for about 15 seconds. I assume that if you ignore the pleas and threats it will get really annoyed and start the (is he dead?) process. I might try in on one our empty motorways down here! Some similar systems will actually...

Re: First ever Seat

It's not the same thing. Emergency assist monitors the driver to see if he is active. It uses things like steering input etc. If it thinks you are asleep/dead, it wiggles the wheels and pumps the brakes. If it gets no response it puts the hazard lights on and swerves around a bit to alert other driv...

Re: Water under Car

If that is the case, which I suspect it is, it’s a very good idea as condensation inside the exhaust, combined with all the nasty polluting chemicals that are in there, can be a real corrosion problem. Again, going back many years, you expected to replace a silencer every couple of years or so. Peop...

Re: Long term TRIP resetting

The long term memory resets itself after a certain period of time or distance. The manual says:- 3. Long-term The memory records the values for a specific number of partial trips, up to a total of 19 hours and 59 minutes or 99 hours and 59 mi- nutes, or 1999.9 km (or miles) for 9999 km (or miles), d...

Re: Water under Car

You could try running it outside on a level bit of road and stick your head under the car to see where is dripping from. Don’t try this in your garage though!!

I had the exact same issue - if the water is underneath, near to the centre/drivers door area, then it’s the air con outlet!
But in this case it is at the rear of the car, plus the fact that the aircon would not have been running for such a short time.

Re: Water under Car

If the exhaust has a deliberate drain hole, it could be that. I had a Renault 12 hundreds of years ago which used to get through an exhaust every 2 years. Drilling a hole in the silencer at the lowest point solved that. I cannot see how you could get condensation on the outside of a warm exhaust, bu...
