Re: tyres lasted 10,200 miles.

Wow ! Our 2.0 TDi 4 Drive is still on original tyres, 22,000 (yep!) miles in on Bridgestones and the front tyres are only now down to about 2mm; car was registered October 2016. Now time to replace them. Definitely looks like an alignment issue. Had it happen on an Astra a few years back which rippe...

Re: Cracked windscreen

They’re not unique in that regard! I had a heated screen and calibration done by National Windscreens in Glasgow several months ago. However at least this means Ateca owners have wider options for replacement- unless of course it’s an insurance claim and your insurer has a recommended repairer you n...

Re: Mystery Dashboard Display

It's the indicator for the rear seat belts; tells you which are / are not in use, initially when the ignition is switched on, and then goes out.

Re: Winter wheel and tyre sizes

As for insurance, the attached will be helpful: https://www.abi.org.uk/products-and-issues/choosing-the-right-insurance/motor-insurance/winter-tyres/ I find this hilarious! :D Most motor insurers do not charge additional premiums for vehicles fitted with winter tyres, provided that the tyres are ro...

Re: Winter wheel and tyre sizes

I haven't yet gone down the route of winter wheels & tyres for the Ateca - yet! However the Polo and A3 we have are both on a separate set of OEM wheels and tyres to match factory supplied arrangement; I just prefer it that way, and swap around, as you propose to do. If I was doing the Ateca I'd car...

Re: Cracked windscreen..

How easy is it to get a replacement heated screen? I have always had a nagging worry that it might take ages to source one. Every insurance policy I have had in the last 10 years covers windscreen damage for a circa £50 excess and zero no claims impact. National Winsdscreens had an OE SEAT windscre...

Re: Cracked windscreen..

I am afraid I don't follow. Did you have your initial crack repaired and the repair failed later? Left unrepaired, a crack will usually spread quickly, sometimes beyond repair, that's why a crack should be repaired as soon as noticed. I am also not sure why you disagree with having the crack repair...

Re: Cracked windscreen..

I marked it with a finger print when it happened and it's spread at least 1cm already. It's a lease car, lease company says it's same as body damage, I have to sort it, so either repair at my cost or replace via insurance/excess!! Unless I'm not looking properly at the picture, Ghiggz, that crack l...

Re: Cracked windscreen..

Have it filled asap. It's not in the driver's line of sight and looks like an easy fix Sorry to have to disagree, but that's a full replacement job IMHO! Just had ours fully replaced on Wednesday after a similar incident a few weeks ago, where there were two chips with very little cracking.....but ...

Re: Excellence Electric Tailgate

Agree about the use of the online configurators for all cars to understand exactly what you get. I have found that salespeople just do not know their cars as well as a buyer who informs him/herself. Not surprising given the fact that the typical car salesperson changes manufacturers every year or t...
