Re: Oil service and inspection service ?

I do have my Ateca on an annual plan for two reasons. Firstly, the cost of servicing over the 4 year PCP period on an annual basis was not that much different to two long life services plus inspections when you take into account my annual mileage. Secondly, these days I just like to have my cars ph...

Re: Oil service and inspection service ?

A Friend has a 15yr car which has been services every year (thou manufacture said 18mths) and now with 140k+ on the clock runs sweet as a nut and returns better miles per gallon than new equivalent sized cars People keep saying that. They never mention the cars on long-life that run sweet as a nut ...

Re: Oil service and inspection service ?

Paying £20K+ for a modern turbocharged direct injection car that is stretched to its limit due to the emission legislation and then trying to save some £100 a year on oil is indeed madness in my view. 6000 miles/12 months (whatever comes first) is my schedule whatever the manufacturer is trying to ...

Re: SEAT Ensurance users - where is the catch?

I think the ENsurance thing is basically just a claims management company/middle man, they liaise between your actual INsurance company and a dealer to get repairs done.. Its free from Seat cos basically I think its just a way for Seat to ensure it gets repaired by a dealership/franchise and not a ...

Re: new to seat

Regarding the seats. Just about anything is possible, but often prohibitively expensive. The topic re: SEAT electric seats has come up several times but I don't recall anyone nobody asking about retro-fit. Personally I think it's such a silly idea to provide an electric seat without a memory functio...

Re: Deciding between diesel and petrol

I see responses from those driving the petrol but none from those driving the deisel. And a see another response suggesting the breakeven point is around 15,000 miles for petrol to diesel which is very old school now (but still favoured by the ignorant press). If you check the average real-world fue...

Re: Seat VS Skoda Engines

The engines are made by Skoda and are the same, even though they may give them slightly different names in their advertising. They both have ACT, just like the previous 1.4l version. Not here in the UK. The new 1.5L engines are the same but with the old 1.4 (150) engine - SEAT, VW and Audi used ACT...

Re: Tyre Sizes for different models

I'd say the dealer's website is wrong.

That size doesn't exist on Michelin's UK website, nor their French website, their German website or their Polish website. And doesn't exist on their Czech Republic website either.

Re: Is Seat Ateca bigger than Škoda Karoq?

For your particular application perhaps but the Ateca floor space is still larger. Perhaps you're just talking about a rectangular area? How do I know - well I have a set of golf clubs and with the Focus hatch (ours was a 2013 model) I had to remove the driver and 3 wood from my bag before it would ...

Re: KESSY: What Security measures do you take

I keep the key in the stainless steel bread bin in the kitchen. Makes a good faraday cage as well as keeping the bread fresh !! Same reply as I made to Fred99 - do you carry around your bread tin when you go shopping? What is it with people - do you think theives only take your cars whilst pa...
