Re: Road noise

Hallelujah :D !!! At last someone has finally come out and spoken about the exact problem that I have been moaning about on here for while. It's been getting worse for some time to the point where the car is never settled unless the road is smooth. Every road blemish comes into the cabin, with a hig...

Re: Spare wheel or not

Given how useful a spare tyre could be, I don’t think it could ever be regarded as a complete waste of money. From what I’ve been told, those goo kits don’t always work properly anyway. Given that we go on holiday to the Lake District each year, there is no way I would want to be stranded in the mid...

Re: The Cup holder issue

Don’t worry, as the petulant one, I do bring myself to pull the armrest back if necessary :D I suppose an issue here is that when manufacturers put holders in cars it will encourage people to use them on the move. Therefore having them in an inconvenient place can cause issues. To be honest I can co...

Re: FR Progressive Steering

The progressive steering has been about for little while now so I presume the car you test drove had it as well. What are you actually comparing your steering experience to? Is it actually different to your test drive? Alas, mine is MY17 so I'm spinning the wheel more on parking. Soon get used to it...

Re: The Cup holder issue

Tom - sorry if this is a silly question but do you realise that the armrest does slide forward in order for it to be of any real use as an actual armrest? By doing this, it does fully cover the cup holders. Hardly a third world issue but it does require the armrest to remain in the back position whe...

Re: The Cup holder issue

I have to agree that the cup/drink holders are annoying. The Ateca was all those years in the design process and they seem to have ended up an afterthought. It's also too far back to take anything out easily with one hand. Almost as annoying as putting the CD player in the glove box so hardly anythi...

Re: Ateca 1.4 gear box

Doesn't just giving the steering wheel a tug do the same thing?

Re: Burnt out clutch after just 14k

Trejster - what engine do you have? Is it the 1.0 petrol? This particular engine clutch has some history with this issue.
