Re: Handbrake

Got used to it on my first test drive.

My driving instructor was an IAM instructor so I had proper use of the handbrake drilled into me right from the start - so first few minutes it did feel a little odd but I got used to it amazingly quickly.

Re: Auto braking driving me nuts

Hi all, I read this post with interest. Has the OP had any luck getting this sorted? We have had our Ateca since March and get the scary front assist warning roughly once per week. Twice it has applied the brakes forcefully. Once when my wife was driving on a roundabout and once when I was driving ...

Re: Grille Badge

The grille badge is where the Front Assist (anti-collision) radar sensor sits.... are you getting any errors on the dash?

Just thinking that if it's the sensor then you may with to reconsider a self-fit approach. I am of course assuming by grille badge you mean the front SEAT ('S') badge.

Re: Traffic Sign Recognition

On 'old spec' Atecas it was an option for Driver Assist Pack 1 (not 2 - on both DSG and manual) or the Advanced Comfort and Driver Assist pack (DSG models only - non DSG models could only opt for Advanced Driver Assist pack which didn't have it). From spec sheets, price lists and configurator output...

Re: How can I fold back windscreen wiper to clean screen?

I do it when I wash my car - although I never really got the hang of it and it always took several attempts. Turns out I should have RTFM as well - as quoted above you need to switch ignition on then off before doing the wipe, which explains why it always took me a couple of tries! My point being, i...

Re: How can I fold back windscreen wiper to clean screen?

Yup, you need to put them in service mode - page 71 of the manual ("Windscreen wipers service position"). The wiper arms can be raised when the wipers are in service position ››› Fig. 81. ● Close the bonnet ››› page 298. ● Switch the ignition on and off. ● Press the windscreen wiper lever downwards ...

Re: Boot liner for dog etc

Yeah, it's a great colour always changing depending on lighting - in the sun it goes slightly blu-ish. I can't find updated info on the double floor either - often they make a big thing of things like this as part of the 'standard' kit. If it's not an option it may now be standard though as a lot of...

Re: Boot liner for dog etc

Updated: Sorry, found the above already covered in another topic. Looks like as I have 2wd the floor is the variable floor that can be put into the lower and upper position even with the space saver wheel in place. Feel free to let me know if I am wrong. Answer is partially correct / it depends. On...

Re: Tyre mileage

Well it finally happened. Needed new front tyres as they were at the tread wear indicators. Mileage was 26000. Judging by the posts on here i think they did bloody good. That was on Falken Azenis tyres. They have been replaced by Kwikfit with Bridgestone Turanzas. Interesting - did you replace all ...
