Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this problem. Twice now my Ateca has locked itself with the keys inside. It's not to do with opening the boot. The first time I'm unsure how quickly the car locked itself, but the second time was when husband was at a filling station - he pulled up, got out, shut door, went to open petrol cap door to find it wouldn't - yep car was locked with the keys inside.
We have tried hard not to ever leave the keys inside since the first event, but this is just crazy - and expensive.

(First time we were away from home and it was 5 hours before RAC sent specialist locksmith out, who did a fantastic job. Second time, no locksmiths in nearby area were answering their phones and husband not in RAC, this will be rectified! Eventually he found someone who would 'have a go' and used some inflatable device to open the passenger door enough to retrieve the key. This has caused some damage to the door)

The car is out of warranty as a 17 plate. I haven't seen anything online about this being a known fault, but if anyone has any suggestions, if there is anything I can disable, I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Hi

This has happened to me a few times and had to get my partner to drive down and meet me to give me the spare key to get access into my car. I’m curious if you had ever got this issue sorted?
