Cosmic has been raving on about the 'Crap Satnav' system in the Ateca, I've used it for years in numerous VAG vehicles. I do the updates every 6 months and was quite happy, then the traffic updates stopped, hmmm bit of a pain, but whatever.

Then yesterday I took my lady wife to a garden near Colchester, the website said 'your satnav may not find our location', right first time, not a dickie bird. So I tried the same postcode on Goolie maps, hmmmmm, not a dickie bird there either.

So I typed the name of the place into Goolie maps and voila! There's the location and here's the diversion, because there are temporary closures on one road due to scheduled power cuts. So traffic info is bang up to date, result!

I plugged my phone into the car and set Android Auto running, perfect! So good I'm ordering the AAWIRELESS Two adaptor for the car.

Cosmic, I apologise for getting on your case about Goolie maps vs Seat Satnav, you were right all along.

Munch munch, eating humble pie 😉

Both wife and I like Waze, but lately it's been iffy for diversions and road closures in our rural area where there have been lots of water main replacements going on.

I think my wife likes it as she got nabbed speeding through a red light camera o_O and Waze warns her of those!

Waze has been owned by Google for years and there have been rumours they'll merge but they're always denied.

Thanks for the note! The next step is try using a voice command for a navigation destination - it seems to use a kind of 'fuzzy logic' and deduce what you are probably looking for even though you might not have requested exactly the right name, it is uncannily accurate, of course from time to time it draws a complete blank too in which case its a keyboard job.
