Has anyone seen and advert for "Ecochip" from an outfit called TechTrends? It sounds like one of the thousands of gadgets which are too good to be true; but I just wondered whether anyone has actually tried it. It plugs into the onboard OBD2 port and is claimed to reduce fuel consumption by 50%! It costs £40; an absolute bargain if it works, but more probably money down the drain.

The ad I saw claims 15%. That's possible, but it probably forces the ECU into Full Granny Mode so the performance may not be so good. A bit like selecting Eco mode.

It's £11 on Amazon.co.uk, and that's £11 too much. Total waste of money by a bunch of scam artists.

Great News! Tech Trends advert re-appeared today and is now claiming a 55% fuel saving. Give it a few more month at this rate of increase and we will be driving for free. Who needs and electric car? If only it was genuine.......
