Nothing too clever but if you do use the car's built in navigation system and you are about to go out to the car but wonder does the car have the POI in it, like Lidl in Hertford, you can type that into the app, zoom in, see if it looks right and it's likely to be found in the car's system since they are both using HERE map data. It's faster than typing the address in or the cordinates in DMS. So for this purpose I keep the HERE maps app on my device as well as Google Maps.

I can revisit those other apps that generate the DMS coordinates if you like in another post. I have three favourite Android ones which can generate the degree, minute and second coordinates for entering into the cars satnav if you don't import them on VCARDS or POIs. This is where the POI isn't going to be in the cars database, like car parks for hikes etc.
