Hey everyone

I thought I should join this community since I ordered my Ateca on Monday ;)

I'm in a hurry to get a replacement vehicle due to a change in circumstances, so I chose the standard SE trim with no extras to help speed along the order (... the only extra I guess is the non-standard colour, I requested Bila White "Solid Special"). I reviewed all the options and the SE spec really does have exactly everything that I need anyway (particularly the parking sensors and cruise control). Of course there's extra stuff I would like to have, but not within my budget.

There's no estimate on when I'll take delivery yet (supplier just said 10 weeks from SEAT direct), but I'm certainly looking forward to it and I'm enjoying browsing this forum! So far on this forum I've determined that the 1.0 TSI will be perfect for me, despite the stigma that 1.0 is a really small engine. Also I struggled to find real life pictures of the factory fitted SE alloy wheels (17" 'Dynamic' alloy wheels 36/1), but this forum helped me do that, and I really like how they look. So thanks everyone and keep posting!!

Follow this thread for updates on when I expect (and do) take delivery!

Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben,

Where abouts in Hampshire are you? I found that calling Seat UK was better than waiting for updates from my dealership.

Hey, I'm in Romsey, I ordered through a broker rather than local dealership though. And yeah, I intend to call SEAT UK for updates!!

Hi Ben. Just the man then to answer a question that's bothered me since placing an order.

I bought my current car via broker - drivethedeal, and made a substantial saving on what local dealers were offering. However I ordered the Ateca via a SEAT dealership up here in Scotland as the broker route wasn't working out that much cheaper. Or at least I hope not. What I never found out is that if you order thru a broker, did the dealership they put you in touch with then honour the SEAT £1000 test drive discount or was that already built in to the broker's discount price?

Cheers.

Hey, I haven't yet been put in contact with a dealer. I'm waiting for confirmation that SEAT have received the order placed via the broker. But I've done the maths and I'm pretty sure that discount is already included. Sorry, not a very helpful answer! Will let you know what I find out in the coming days/weeks!

Don't think you will get the £1000 discount .. small print states that car must be ordered before Jan but Delivered by March .. as they can't supply in that time you loose out! I wrote to Seat Customer email and was informed that they would/could not extend the dates!

Quick update from SEAT today. They confirmed that it was built last week (Week 9), as scheduled. It's now awaiting to be assigned to a ship for transport.

Welcome to the shipping club, Ben! We're a little exclusive along with Grahamn; I was build week 8 and my Ateca is at the Port waiting on a ship. Chances are they'll both be shipped in via Sheerness, as we're down south!

Quick update. I just called SEAT UK and the ship with my car on is due into port today. The guy on the phone said to allow 48hrs for them to unload, and then 7-10 days for it to reach dealership. So basically 2 weeks from now.

One month from order to build? Thats fast! I suppose that is the benefit of going for the 1.0 tsi and keeping the options to a minimum. Look forward to seeing the compulsary first pics :)

Yeah, impressive and a sensible move if you want it now... serves us right for wanting extras!
