I clipped my wing mirror today and the housing and indicator strip are broken, as well as a plastic collar around the part that pivots. The lights and motors still work, though, and the glass isn't broken. My local dealer quoted north of £350 just for a replacement wing mirror, with labour on top.
If I buy the part myself online (much cheaper), how easy would it be to replace the broken parts or in fact the whole wing mirror? The parts inside look fairly easy to unscrew and unplug from one another, but I'm not sure how to remove the whole thing from the body. Any thoughts on whether I should DIY it? Thanks.
