Can anyone confirm that the Ateca 1.6TDi (front wheel drive only) does not use Adblue because I cannot find anywhere to fill up.
No filler cap beside diesel cap, nothing under the bonnet and nothing in the boot. :?:

No, it doesn't use Adblue. It's the 2.0Tdi 4Drive engines that use it. The 2.0Tdi 2WD models were withdrawn as they did not have it, but did not meet the emissions spec. When they are reintroduced, they will (probably) have Adblue.

It won't then but Ghizzg can confirm.... give the full answer and Freddie beats me again... :).

It's SCR, technical manual

SCR SYSTEM
The second-generation SCR system is introduced in
diesel engines with identifying letters "DFFA" and
"DFHA" for 4Drive in fulfilment of the EU6 emission
standards. For further information see page 20.
That's why they had to scrap the 2WD TDI 2.0 since it wouldn't meet emission standards and continued 4WD.

The technical manual can be got at by Google

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ssp+no+163&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b&gfe_rd=cr&ei=HyVdWJTJJKv38AfigLnABA

Take the Russian site also Ghizzg put it up on a Google drive referenced from the board.

Dealing with NOx breaks down into NOx destruction via a NOx trap and NOx Control, SCR that uses AdBlue is that. NOx destruction is what is in the 1.6 TDI and they were hoping to do it in the Ateca 2WD TDI 2.0 but failed.

We will wait for 1.6TDi owners conformation but that's how VW document it in their technical manual. Also if you own the car you would see it on the menu around miles still to go on diesel and AdBlue on the centre panel display. AdBlue is no big shakes thou, 60p a litre, 11 litre talk, 6,500 mile range. Cheapest DIY fill up at lorry pumps.
