Could someone please confirm for me whether or not these things are the same thing??

It doesn't seem to do anything and there is no "P" button anywhere .......

Just purchased a 2018 SEAT Ateca Xcellence Lux 2.0 L, 4Drive, DSG Automatic, Diesel.

Thanks for your patience.

Park Pilot is just the front / rear sensors.

Park Assist is the button that you press and it parks the car.

Seems a bit random whether Park Assist is fitted - our old mk1 Tiguan auto had it and it worked well. Our manual 2018 Ateca SEL has it but it's a bit more awkward in a manual. Wife's 22 Skoda Karoq SEL auto doesn't have it.

In practice it's quite slow - and if you're under pressure from other traffic it never seems to work. In all the years we've had it on cars I've probably used it 5 or 6 times. For parallel parking it lines itself up with the cars parked in front and behind so if they're not parked perfectly then neither will you be. I hoped it would allow the car to park itself on our drive between two other car, but it seems the road is too far away (probably about a metre) for the system to pick up the other cars.

Also, I just looked on Autotrader in UK and can only see 2019 and 2020 models of your car - they do have Park Assist. Could be it just wasn't fitted in your market.

It's the left button on the panel:

Interesting, my Cupra has Park Assist, aside from reading the manual when I 1st got the car I've not looked at tit since. There some things in life and especially in modern cars that fall into the bucket of 'just because you can doesn't mean you should' and having the car auto-park itself is one of those things for me.
