It's been suggested on European sites that panoramic roofs push your build date back.

Wondered by Ateca model, First Edition and others who's got a build date split by with and without panoramic roof.

I was told when i was given my build date that like anything that could change, we will just have to wait and see! Annoying as my mate already has his new tiguan!

I see so far no panos with build dates. I expect yours is being built this week Magpie if they said so. Dunn Vag Happy, they 190 Tiguan's were not going to be built till September, so not sure what your mate is having. They were discounting earlier on probably based on the VW diesel issue, probably get pounced on but I don't think that has really taken offer yet on the Ateca and probably won't given the economics after Brexit since I don't think Seat Europe will see the British as a charity case.

I left the poll so you can change it as information comes in. It's probably good for the next several months to gauge what is going on.

My First Edition is on route to the UK. I've been told 1st/2nd week in September for drive away. Have picked my plate number.

I've even had a "template" email from Seat saying its leaving the factory on route to the UK. That was a week ago, anyone had that yet?

Do you think they would allow me to drive it away before the launch on the 9th?

If it had the plates on yes. I'm being offered a test drive on that day (probably to keep me happy). They said it would be on trade plates. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

It's possible that garages will have them round the back before launch since getting that number of cars out will be logically difficult assuming four cars per garage. My old Fiat garage took me round the back to show me a new car that they had pending a launch. I can't say the garage I'm buying mine from used their loan LHD car too well from what I saw against other reports on here, perhaps they thought we would wait for the main launch. This is the garage that was taking five calls a day asking for a test drive during the crowd sourcing exercise so probably not situated in an area of high IQ or they didn't reach out to all these guys. They have taken three orders so far.

OK as of 19th August, 7 votes, keep the votes coming in.

All First Edition buyers have been given build dates, all two of you. Of the remaining 5 votes which covered all other models other than the First Edition, 20 percent of you have a build date, that's one person. I'm the only one having a panoramic roof so far, but it seems I'm probably not unlucky yet from this choice until there is more evidence that you are getting build dates and I'm not.

I am a bit annoyed if I could have had my first edition for first week of september! I am desperate for the car, any car, having given my old fiat back a few months ago (end of pcp). Did you say (in a different thread) the dealership just ordered one believing they could shift it anyway? If that is what has happened then fair enough.

Wasn't me. I'd expect they will get the cars out when they arrive in the UK else they will be occupying space. It's going to be interesting as to the numbers of cars they get into the garages for the 9th. Whether it's the four each for their sales purposes, one each will mean they still have a supply problem and a lack of Xcellences will say something else like they haven't planned to sell too many of them. See whether I'm proved correct that Seat decides what you want to buy rather than the customer, irrespective of the crowd sourcing stunt.

I'm sure your Cortina / Escort will hold up well and the family photos with the Orange Ateca in it when you get it will be good for your kids to look back at. Dad can you remember when we had the orange car...

The wait is nearly over, least for me to see what the black leather seats and the interior look and feel like. I'm going to be in there early on the 9th. I'm probably going to have a second bite of the cherry after the weekend in another dealer. They might all have the same allocation of demo models and colours, we'll see.

Three weeks to go.

Nah the mondeo gave up the ghost! Got a little bit back for it. Now making the best of it with one of my parents cars (which was the original plan anyway as they no longer need two cars, but they got cold feet!). I am just curious why first editions have different build dates when it's same spec, I can a only presume it's if the dealerships ordered them on the chance they could shift one, or that 24 hours difference between me ordering one and everyone else did me in! There was only 6 orange left on the screen when I placed my order. So a fair few had been sold/ordered..

As I'm going thru my employers lease company and not direct thru a dealer, I am unlikely to get a build date in advance.
When we had our current car the online order info screen just updates as and when, one day to 'vehicle built', then updated to 'delivered to dealer', etc..

Seat UK would have specified the First Edition builds so they aren't effectively bought to order, like you bought the tin of bake beans Heinz were already making, it wasn't in the shops yet. That's why they talk about we have so many left etc. I suspect a lot of the PCP cars are like that. That's why a dealer up north told me they are only given the cars they think we can sell for the forecourt.

Those goodies they are giving you on the First Edition they will getting some of their money back in several years time when they go for auction by increasing the resale value and making the PCP prices better now. More in it than meets the eye. Wheeler dealer fudging and that chocolate box of choice. Your chocolate box was already specified to be made :). The thing is whether Seat UK have passed our non First Edition orders over to the factory or are sitting on them to make up the production line up in assorted flavours. You would hope it would be left to the factory to sort out it's work flow.

Not too sure whether Seat dealers have access to that. Mine hadn't moved to product codes and the quilt pen wasn't far away. This is where I'm worried about whether his free text rather than product code isn't going to end up with a car I didn't order and the price to match after waiting months. The only tally is the price list and my bottom line figure. I will check of each item before accepting the car at delivery.

I've ordered the Xcellence 1.4 DSG 150PK with pana roof.

The delivery date is the first week of december.
Neovo, are you UK based. I'll slap my wrist since the question should have said UK orders since one is trying to determine what is happening to orders placed in the UK. See if I can now edit the question, done. If it is your vote can be counted :).

It will be since they started to sell them before the UK. But it's all to do with how they schedule the production of right hand drive ones again left hand drive. When did you place your order since so far on here I'm the only person who has ordered a panoramic roof. At one stage it was understood there were delays for these on the continent. At the minute I'm not so worried. Reports by Freddie (think I got his name correct) were saying order delays on any Ateca of five months in Spain and Europe.

So yes the UK spec if more limited to than the one available on the continent which irritates me and a few others. So I don't know what option you have in Belgium without looking. My theory is that the PCP financing package used in the UK by a fare few people leads to Seat restricting the product range since they like to keep it simple since they will be reselling the cars later and they can't be bothered with a wider spec. That is my theory, for us cash buyers we are getting dictated what options we can have, my beef is only leather seats if you wants a 4x4 DSG (not veggie friendly and not as comfortable as other materials). All Xcellences in the UK have black leather upholstery. (sorry for people who have heard me say this before)

I've ordered mine on 26 july.

I had the chance to see and drive the Ateca.
I have been riding with the 1.0 115 PK and the 1.4 150 PK DSG.

Mine choice became rodium grey and the 1.4 automatic engine. Although I was really surprised by the smaller engine.
