Apparently there were 112 orders taken across the UK on launch Saturday for the Ateca

150TDI engines in 2WD with be order able from January, delivery April.

Those petrol engines that people want on the Ateca available elsewhere, April on.

DAB issue suppose to be only on the SE demonstrators - I'd say best to check if buying one of these.

Boot protectors and Seat Sound System, don't mix, it will muffle your sub woofer.

19" on the Xcellence are fine reported by a dealer who owns a track car and has said training license, so no negativities there. Need a big heavy engine he said for the 19" wheels to work. Perhaps it then behaves like a track car...

On your triangle, no you need a modern one, mine wouldn't, tried it. So yes interest in those eBay boxes, if I get my existing one under the boot cover with the spare.

I did my favourite mix track test with the standard sound system, that reproduced fine, so the standard speakers aren't rubbish. (Poor dealer had to have polyrhythms for that where I told him the baseline destroys the top line if the crossover is rubbish, it didn't). No Seat sound system in for me to check out the same out.

Tip on eco mode DSG, good for motorways, normal when off.

I think that's about it. I like to work the dealers.

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by that.

The petrol engines you can buy in Spain will be available April 2017. So the pitch was they knew they couldn't supply the full range of Atecas in the Uk due to availability so didn't. The 150TDI is availability is back on in the new year, but then your comrades in Spain say pollution. Jury is out of that one. Think belligerent sand kicking by disappointed people perhaps.

Given that Seat UK HQ is a couple of miles away from this dealer reckon this is reliable information.

Does that mean the 1.4 DSG will be available in April too?

I learned a new word today, 'Homologation'. It is on a copy of the message from Seat that my dealer sent me. It says that Homologation data wont be available until week 13/2017 for the 2.0.

Google says this:

'Homologation (from the verb homologate, meaning "to approve or confirm officially") is the process of certifying or approving a product to indicate that it meets regulatory standards and specifications, such as safety and technical requirements'

Which engines are we talking about? If all the petrol engines that are currently available in Spain were not available in the UK until April that means the only UK option would be the 1.6Tdi and the Excellence 190 Tdi. That doesn't sound right! Or do you mean that they will be adding the 1.4Tsi DSG? They should do that right now as currently the only DSG option is on the most expensive model.

Now that the 150Tdi has been withdrawn, I will expect my 1.4Tsi DSG to move up the delivery list.

What I don't understand is the fact that SEAT says they will honour existing 150Tdi orders. How can they do that if they have a real emission problem with them?

Do you mean an automatic petrol Tell? Obviously the UK has the 1.0 and 1.4 now but no DSG option. I believe Spain does.

Edit - What Fred said! Sorry for repeating!

That's in line with this guy I would trust, they probably do the ski slope with mk Seat HQ people or socialise. 13/2017 I'd put at April, orders from January was said, delivery April.

On the other Qs outside of the TDI150 it was mopping up the rest so you could assume all the rest at the extreme. That's a wait and see. So 150TDI was pulled. The other European options were not provided due to demand in other markets. I still feel Seat UK operates on a splash of we know what the UK market wants so trims back on the options like upholstery. As it happens leather's fine to sit on, having been in three Xcellance so far. Still a touch irritating that your choice options are reduced since Seat UK management knows best approach. We know what other markets are getting and get irritated by the straight jacket approach.

Magpie, no Orange perils to be seen at this dealer although I did see an older Seat in orange yesterday so I wonder whether they are revisiting this colour.

No, Samoa Orange is a newish colour to VAG. I believe there were a few orange R10s made, but that's it. They have used it a lot on their concept cars, the Leon Crossover and the 20V20 large SUV.

I won't lose it in the car park at least! Wonder if they will do a bright lime green type colour Ateca one day. I see an awful lot of green Ibizas around. And I do mean awful... :p
