Tyre Pressure's using?

Post by jamesiow » Sun Apr 30, 2017 1:58 pm

Hi All,
Just checked my tyre pressure's today and they where put at the 36PSI by the dealer as per sticker on the door but I've now adjusted them to the "Comfort" setting of 32psi all around as indicated by the 'i' sticker. Was wondering what other members run their tyres at? I think the 32 car seems less firm and move forgiving of rubbish roads but obviously to soon to tell if it affects fuel economy.

It will be interesting to see what mpg you guys get setting them to 32 as manual does say fuel consumption will increase. To be fair my 18" performance wheels are set to 36psi and I don't have any issue with comfort :D

When I picked up my 1.4 Ateca on 8th March the dealer had set all tyres at 39PSI. I reduced them immediately to 36 PSI and the car states my current MPG is approximately 33 (though mainly town driving to date on Eco setting). My old Altea XL tyres were 35 front and 32 back so I would assume that you operating at 32 PSI is way too low. I stand to be corrected.

Hi
Well the mpg seems the same low to mid 30s on town and about low 40s on longer trips out of town. All set to 32psi all around as per label. The ride is a lot better.
