Front Assist Drivers Display Screen

Post by Dewi01 » Wed Aug 30, 2017 5:00 pm

Hi, Can anyone help me......got back off holiday and am not sure if my front assist has a fault on the drivers display. i.e someone has bumped car whilst I was away. Might be being paranoid but I dint remember it looking like this and can't find any pics to confirm if it's correct etc.

Nothing to worry about (or we’ve both got problems!) - mine looks the same (albeit i’m currently facing East!).

Ok, Thanks for that! Just seems the screen is funny. As if it's trying to display the front assist radar and steering wheel. Not sure. Anyone know??

I'm not sure this is relevant (?) - there is a round button on the right of the steering wheel where you can flick though different items on the screen - then press the button to save. I have mine set to MPH.

Hi, Thanks for reply. I know there's a button to scroll through settings etc. It's the screens display on that particular page i was concerned about. It looks like the top of a steering wheel (btm right) and as if it's displaying the angle of the front assist radar. Don't get what you mean by setting to mph

Hi - I've just checked mine in the garage and the front assist display looks exactly the same as yours...

I merely said that you can adjust the vision on the screen, thru the various subjects, to whatever you choose. In my case I prefer that the screen shows current MPH. I wouldn't worry about the screen you displayed and I'm sure the dealer would reassure/guide you if required. Cheers.

That screen is not just for the Front Assist, it also displays infomation from other assistant systems if you have those. Mine has ACC, so the screen is a bit different; there are horizontal lines on it, which indicate different ACC distance settings. In a car with Lane Assist, it also shows the status of the lane detection, and so on. I'm sure that if you go out for a little tailgating trip, you will see something happening on that screen.

Interesting though, that your's has the menu item (Front Assist on/off) hovering on top of the display. Mine doesn't, I have to rotate the roller on the right side of the steering wheel to get that menu, and then the menu has no background at all.

Ok, cheers. A little tailgate trip it is then, just out of curiosity. My initial thoughts is were like you've said. I did think the display was blank when on that screen before I went away. When I came back it wasn't and I wasn't sure if I'd been imagining things. Anyhow cars going in next week for a minor issue, so I'll ask the guys at seat and see what they say. Thanks guys!!
