Hi everyone!
A few days ago the mechatronics gear unit on my year old Ateca (received April 2017) failed completely and was replaced under warranty.
The failure started with an innocuous message "Error: Gearbox. you can drive on". This appeared once and disappeared without leaving any trace on the instrument panel displays' info. screen but on the next drive, it came back again and this time with the Central warning lamp: "!".
It also left a permanent message on the instrument panel displays' info. screen.
After a few minutes the gearbox started going haywire - is disconnected from the engine at low speeds and the car started to glide on the road...the gear indicator on the instrument panel changed from D3 to 3 to....nothing and the car glided to a stop while the engine is still running regularly...
Next morning I took the car to the garage where it spent the whole day while fitting it with a new mechatronics unit. Has this happened to anyone
else?
Thanks
