My Ateca 1.5 tsi Evo DSG just had it's first service.
When I went to pick it up I was told that it had had a software update to fix a low torque issue. When speaking to the helpful chap he said that there was another update (not required for my car) to do with engines that remained in Eco(2 cylinders only) and that this was causing loss of power.
No more info than that I'm afraid, but it's the first time that I've heard the 2 cylinder explanation.

Anyway, Beadles Skoda in Southend did the service (I'm on the Seat 2 year services plan) and were very good at communicating etc.

This might explain some complains here about the unacceptable lack of power for a 150 bhp engine. I remember complains about difficulties with overtaking a tractor in 3rd gear  This may well be the reason.

Hi all
Thought I would drop a line
I have had my car updated today and the service man said the update was out a week and that the 1.5 engine will be having a recall.
So far the drive has felt better but I have only driven it from the dealer but pulling away was good.

Thanks for the update. Do you know what version your ECU is and what software version you've been updated to?
Mine was in earlier this week and I've been told that although they've diagnosed the fault and acknowledge the roo, there is as of yet no further software update available for my car.

Mine is being updated as I write, the dealer confirmed it is to address a loss of torque at low revs.

For FL_05E906018R there's 9832 update. The previous version was 7421.

For info the 1.5 Tarraco has a recall for an ECU update. Not sure why this wouldn’t also apply to the Ateca?
