Hi .. I have just ordered the FR Sport but wondering if I should have went for the Xcellence instead due to the FR Sport not having a reverse camera .. Any suggestions

I would say its a bit late now if you have placed the order and paid your down payment

It depends, my seller told me I had some time to ask for changes when I ordered mine (even after my down payment).
Personally I'd opt for the Xcellence (but I chose this trim since the beginning, so my judgement could be partial).

oh well that sounds encouraging then. I had the same dilemma. but as I need to Tow the caravan I wanted that top view camera plus wit having children the leather seats were a must for me, so Excellence lux it was for me. the hard part was choosing the colour

I just thought they were built in Spain!! My mistake if they are built elsewhere but doesn't really matter coz the outcome will be the same!! Velvet red Ateca fr sport! 😁😁
I we are thinking of a FR for towing .May I ask how you find it ?What do you tow with it ,length of caravan and weight.thanks in advance ....Paul & Anne

Hi All,

New to the forum, but I've been lurking in the background.

Just ordered a 2.0 Tdi Xcellence Lux DSG 4Drive in Lava Blue, but apparently it's a 4-month wait at present. Still, the antici------pation will surely be worth it! Anyone tried towing heavy-ish trailers with one of these? How well do they perform with the intelligent 4wd? I aim to occasionally tow around 1.9 tonnes, partly over dry fields, so I'm really hoping the beast will cope. I know it's not a Land Rover, nor is it my current rust-heap, which would tow a house if it could get enough grip with its road tyres, but I'm hoping it'll be a good compromise.
Lava Blue Ateca 2.0 Tdi (150) Excellence Lux DSG 4Drive, ordered 20th July 2019 with an estimated 4 month delivery date.
Current vehicles: a 2007 Passat 2.0 Tdi SEL and a rust-heap (2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 litre)

I heard the 1.5 was a mare.
Just saying.

Th xcellence lux is a good choice, but personally I preferred the FR Sport. It simply looks better aesthetically and costs less. The xcellence lux looks just like the SE Tech so less 'premium' in my opinion. It comes down to tech: everything is shoehorned in and you pay for it, but which gadgets do you really want and is it worth paying for the stuff you couldn't care less about?

Can't go wrong with either.

Agreed, I have an SE Tech and it's nearly fully loaded, I can live without the bits it doesn't have.
The only thing I would have liked are the leather seats tbh.
Oh and more power as it's quite sluggish.
