With DSG and ACC and Lane Assist it gets annoyed if you don’t hold the wheel for about 15 seconds. I assume that if you ignore the pleas and threats it will get really annoyed and start the (is he dead?) process.

I might try in on one our empty motorways down here! Some similar systems will actually steer you off onto the hard should or edge of the road, but the VAG version stops you in the lane you were in. That could be fun on a busy urban motorway. If you weren’t dead already you soon would be!

I can confirm the Xcellence Lux I have just receive does not have Emergency Assist. It's described in the manual but states it's available in certain countries.

I have tested it on an empty road.

The car tells you three times to take over the steering and then hits the brakes to wake you up. The car does not stop or slow down, nor put the hazards on.
All it does is disengage active cruise and lane assist.
