Potential new owner

Post by James33 » Wed Dec 05, 2018 11:55 pm

Hi thought I'd come on here and see how owners are finding there Ateca's. We are due a new Motability car in March and the Ateca is currently top of the list. Our 1st motability car 6 years ago was an Altea XL 2.0tdi and we loved it. Would have ordered another 3 years ago if they hadn't stopped making them. We got a Vauxhall Astra in the end and while it's been ok it's never felt as well made as the Seat. I've always been a V.A.G owner in the past too so feel at home in a Seat.
We test drove an Ateca SE technology 1.0 last weekend and was very impressed. On the scheme we can get the SE technology but with the 1.6tdi engine.
Diesel wouldn't be my 1st choice but was wondering how others find this engine? Does the fuel economy make up for the extra cost of Diesel now? Road tax isn't an issue as we don't pay it with Motability. Also how are the features on the SE tech, do you find anything lacking?
Sorry this is a bit of a long 1st post but hopefully your still with me and I look forward to hearing your views.

We have the 1.6SE, company car so again only had two options the 1.0 or 1.6tdi, my last three cars had all been diesels, so just went with it again even though the 1.0 got good reviews, as for me they were the same monthly cost, and we ordered ours pre production so couldn't test drive either to compare anyway...

I find the 1.6 an ok engine.. just as pokey as all the other 1.6 diesels I had before it, goes well fully loaded on a holiday trip..
we get around 45-48 general driving, and low to mid 60s on mway runs!
Silver Ateca SE 1.6tdi

Thanks have heard the 1.6 gives good mpg. We have since looked at a few other cars including test driving a BMW 2 series active touring but non compare to the Ateca so we will be ordering one today. Going for an SE Technology 1.6tdi in Lava Blue. Going to be a long wait to until the end of March.

You can now order the 2.0TDIs in the Ateca. They recently launched so you can order them.

On motability? Our salesman didn't mention that. We got told we can't order until 29th December as gas to be 3 months before our existing lease is up. Will find our about the 2.0 as we had that engine in our old Altea XL and it had bags of power.

Ah, under motability it looks like you can only order the 1.6TDI with free reign of a manual or automatic.

Yes that's correct. Really suprised the petrol model isn't on there as I would have thought it would have a higher resale value after the 3 year's is up. Never mind though 1.6tdi in manual it is.
