As far as I can tell all Xcellence models regardless get either the TSI or 4x4 badging on the right side of the boot but the SE-Technology badging doesn't appear to be consistent with some cars having it and others not. The pictures attached show exact same spec with and without badges. Is it maybe the case that all cars get them but some owners have chosen to remove the badges themselves?

I'd be surprised if owners have been removing them - i mean i used to on my imprezas and Type R's but i just don't think the Ateca owners would be that inclined, i may be wrong. I suspect it's just a lottery at the factory.

Is it just me or does that SE-Technology badge on the first photo look squint? Rather than owners taking the badge off, could that badge has been attached post factory build? (perhaps at the dealership) :?

Even if it's not squint, the spacing is all wrong - it neither sits exactly in the middle of the door edge and ATECA badge, nor is it a consistant distance away from the door edge with the Ecomotive badge at the opposite side. There's no symmetry! At a guess, I'd say this wasn't done with a template - ie it wasn't doesn't at the factory.

Hercule Poirot :D

When mine arrive at Christmas last year I questioned that there is no indication that it was a SE Tech model, just had the "ecomotive" badge on the right. Dealer just said that, that is the way they are badging them.
I have to agree with Poirot the badging does not look right, looks like a after thought.

Car was built end of Jan 2017, the SE Tech badge is inline with ATECA one. Maybe they only started fitting the badge in the new year?

My bum

20170705_183448.jpg

Ordered 22/4; BW 22; collected 25/6! 1.4 SE-T DSG, Bila, s/roof, pwr boot, lower grill, rear cam, park assist, boot flr, conv pack, disco leds, tinted rears

i.e. an Xcellence with nicer wheels and minus the "old man" leather (per my missus)
