After the first wash last week I have noticed tarnished chrome trim which looks like it's due to a traffic film remover or similar tried buffing out with autosol to no avail, has anyone else had this. Have Just e mailed dealer to see what they say just thought they were water spots when picked up 3 weeks ago.
Not sure what else to try as am not sure if it's plastic or aluminium and don't want to damage it
Try 50/50 white vinegar with water, and some scrunched up paper to begin with.
If that doesn't work, step it up to Isopropyl alcohol/water (approx 30/70 solution).
If that doesn't work, step up to a jewellery cloth for polishing.
If that doesn't work, step it up to Megs NXT or Autosol with a good buffing microfibre (but kiss the chrome and/or gleaming finish goodbye)
If that doesn't work, replace.
Both trim options are a nightmare IMO. The chrome stuff tarnishes rapidly and the black stuff is difficult to clean. It would have been nice for a Kadjar style gloss trim.
Already tried a light go with autosol but will see what dealer says before I give it a proper go at the weekend, think it's chemical burn from when they washed it before I picked it up, probably used a truck wash on it
It honestly looks like water spots to me, but it might be different IRL. Autosol will strip the chrome, and would need to be applied with quite a heavy hand to remove it. Honestly, try paper and alcohol, and rub quite hard.
Tried a detailing spray which normally removes even bad water marks, looks mor like it's a chemical burn on the top layer on the chrome
