Model year 2019 changes

Post by skk » Tue Apr 17, 2018 9:06 pm

Hello

Does anybody have any information regarding changes to model year 2019? According to German Ateca forum, MY 2019 production should start from week 22, which is the last week of May.

Also , in the Hungarian Seat configurator, the 1.5TSI EVO has become available, but production not before week 44

When I ordered my Ateca in March I wanted to 1.4 engine, but my UK dealer said they had been discontinued and would be replaced next year by a 1.5 model. However it seems that the 1.4 is now available again to order judging by some posts, so I'm not quite sure if that is just some excess stock to get rid of - I can't imagine a 1.4 and a 1.5 alongside a 1.6 diesel would all still be available?
SE Technology 1.6 TDI with winter pack, sound pack and space saving spare wheel, reversing camera and velvet red metallic paint. Ordered 6 March 2018, build week 15 (mid April 2018), being collected 16 May 2018 (week 20).

SEAT UK have some additional production slots available for 1.4 engines which is why they are available again. The 1.5 will not be available until the end of 2018 at the earliest.

April 2018: Ordered Ateca FR 1.4 + quite a few extras

August 2018: Cancelled order after receiving confirmation that my order would be built with the 1.5 engine

Very interesting reading, so there are a bunch of changes fo MY19 to try to reduce the combination of options and engines to make WLTP a bit more straightforward.

The thing to cling to is that if you have ordered a car then it appears that you will get at least that specification. The only caveat is the engine I.e 1.5 over the 1.4.

My order has a few options that may be standard equipment which makes you feel that you may lose out financials but it’s impossible to confirm until you sit in front of the brand new MY19 configurator for an hour... who knows when that will be.

Looks like all cars get front parking sensors....

At the moment I don't feel too great about that part after reading negative reviews from some owners about the 1.5 TSI EVO engine. I read so many good ones about the 1.4 before making my order for one.

Orders for the 1.5 open mid September so I wonder does that mean any built before then will get the 1.4 :?

Had a call today from dealers saying my Ateca will be built 2nd week of September (ordered 26th June). It will have the 1.5 engine fitted. When ordered was the 1.4

The 1.4 is gone replaced by the more efficient 1.5 . A few have had issues many have not and as this engine has been used on a few other VW model, not a mechanical issue. Though I agree would have prefered to have driven the engine in the car I am ordering .
Was given the option to cancel but once you have a build date it is a lot harder. Though in the UK such a major change may come under trade descriptions, though SEAT does reserve the right to change specification on the car without notice.
You are lucky I have been waiting since April for my build date and it is the third week of September
Ateca FR 1.5, Velvet Red, Panoramic Sun Roof, Heated Windscreen, Digital Cockpit
