WLTP - Lead Times and other impacts

Post by Tiki-Taka » Fri Jun 08, 2018 4:34 pm

Hi everyone,

I know we have the very useful Lead Times thread that has been present as buyers have patiently waited for their Atecas.

I thought it may be useful to gather people's info from their dealerships regarding what impact WLTP is having on them.

I have just ordered a 1.4TSI Ateca and have been advised that it will be 22+ weeks.

What have you heard and read?
What will WLTP mean to us?

Interested in your thoughts and opinions!

I ordered the 1.4TSI early April, was due to arrive in July. I have now been told the earliest it will arrive in the UK is September.

My dealer advised WLTP delayed all lead times by 8 weeks.

I spoke to my dealer and they said they had no info on my order being delayed and are expecting it early to mid August.

Hmm 8 weeks Freddie. The dealer this week when I ordered basically said 16 weeks and an extra 6 for the 1.4 tsi, now you never really know how much is absolute fact!

Warthog, That’s great news regarding no averse news. Fingers crossed for you.

I wonder what the outcome will be when they have tested every conceivable combination of car, trim, engine and options. Everything could continue exactly as it has been, I wonder if some combinations will be phased out. I also wonder where that 1.5evo engine fits into it all too especially for us in the UK.

SPOKE TO SOON
Have just been told that SEAT are not confirming orders due to WLTP and I am likely to be pushed back 6-8 weeks now expected late September.
Let's hope for an Indian summer so I can use sunroof!

I ordered my 2.0 TDI 4drive SE Tech on April 27 and was told by SEAT UK and my dealer that it was build week 24 which is this week. SEAT UK advised me when I phoned up 2 weeks ago for an up date to phone back Friday 15 June to confirm that the car has been built and they will give me an estimated delivery date. I have not been advised that the WLTP is affecting my spec of car.
Ordered Ateca SE Technology 2.0 TDI 4drive 150PS, Privacy Glass, Reverse Camera, Convenience Pack & Towbar pre-installation with hook.
Ordered 27/04/2018.
Build Week 24
Delivery: 18/07/2018

I got told mine had left the factory in Spain last week and was now in a German port? Dealer is hoping I’ll have it by the end of the month.

Yes, not convinced the girl new what she was talking about. She is a trainee! This is the second attempt at ordering my car after they ordered the wrong model last time!

Here's an article that sheds some light on this uncertainty about delivery times. It's about Volkswagen, but I'm sure it's the same with all VW group brands.
