DSG Clutch Engagement

I have just come across this video, , showing that if the brake pedal is not pressed firmly on a DSG car, the clutch is partially engaged causing excessive wear. But according to the owners manual in the engine start/stop section," In vehicles with an automatic gearbox, you can control whether the engine should switch off or not by reducing or increasing the brake force applied. While the vehicle remains stopped, the engine will not stop if the brake pedal is slightly pressed, in traffic jams with frequent stopping and starting for example. As soon as strong pressure is applied to the brake pedal, the engine will stop". Does this mean if you use light brake pedal pressure to avoid engine stopping, you could be slipping the clutch ?

The only real advantage about start/stop is with DSG when in traffic. If it kicks in it avoids any clutch wear. The other recommended option is to put it in neutral if it’s a long stop.

Foot on brake and stopped releases the clutches and doesnt wear them out, like you have stopped on the brake with the clutch down. If you creep/crawl holding it back on the brake yes its slipping the clutches and causes wear, but to be fair the clutches are very tough. They wont last as long but I recon still longer than a manual clutch, as the gearbox has many protections to stop damage from happening.

If you have Auto Hold switched on, as soon as you hit zero mph, the green P on the dash comes on, meaning the brakes are fully engaged, and the clutches disengaged. So it doesn't matter if you have your foot on the brake pedal or not - it's superfluous till you touch the throttle again.

As Matthab and Smiffy say, firm pressure on the brake pedal / Auto Hold disengages the clutch. Absolutely no need to put it in neutral.
