I thought the idea of the EZ scheme with only limited options and colours was that cars would be much more quickly available? Does't seem to be working in practice.
According to Seat customer services the lead time for build is 6-8 weeks at the moment

I know car sales are all over the place at the moment, but even so, SEAT's UK registrations for November look very poor - down 50% on Nov 19 and much worse than their VAG stablemates. You'd think they'd be keen to make cars available as quickly as possible.

The only way you can improve lead times significantly is build for stock as against building to customer orders.

With the current Covid/Brexit situation that would not be a safe decision financially.

I now pick the car up on Friday 18th Dec. It sat at the UK docks for a week and was delivered to the dealer last Wednesday. I naïvely thought I would get it last week but they told me they had staffing restrictions that meant a delay.

I am a bit nervous though as it is 35 years since I last drove an automatic (a Cavalier SRi).

I picked it up today and have done 50 miles on it. I love it. I think you need to adjust to its characteristics. I had a play with Sport setting on the box and the paddles.

The only challenge I have is getting it into my garage without hitting the far wall. I think I need to switch off autohold to let it creep slowly, with speed controlled by the brake. I will experiment in the open though!

I have a piece of wood, about 2" x 1" x 12" laying flat across one of the wheel tracks at end of garage, and I just creep forward till I feel it - parks spot on 2 inches from back wall evey time. I did think wood might move over time but it doesn't - I haven't needed to turn off auto-hold

...and turn off stop/start too, if you don't already. It can cut the engine as you're easing up to the wall and you're on and off the brake pedal to varying degrees, then lurch forward as the engine retarts at the same time as you're releasing the brake pedal.

Funny you should say that! That is the solution I came up with too.
