Post by Tosun » Mon Oct 19, 2020 2:19 am

I have today the headunit screen with buttons on the sides.I want to swap it to the newer display without buttons. Is it possible to just swap and have it functional?

Im looking to see if I can change mine, I have the one without the buttons as I have a 2020 cupra. I'm looking and maybe fitting the face-lift version with no button at all and wonder if I can

The buttons are much better than the touch ones. Touch control is almost impossible when driving and either are probably illegal to use while driving.

Replacing head unit display can be done as size and connectors at back are identical. I am using the newer version with capacitive buttons and I am very happy with it, looks more stylish, responsive and gives illusion of a tablet size screen when switched off. Only downside is all the extra fingerprints on the side of the display.
It would be worth only if you could exchange the units or sell old unit and top up the difference for a newer unit!
