Haldex and DSG oil change

Hi

Could anyone please tell me what are manufacturers requirements for 4drive haldex and DQ380 7speed DSG oil and filter change interval. Quite many thoughts on Briskoda ranging from lifetime=no change needed ending with 60k-120k km interval.

My 2.0tsi Ateca is about to pass the 59000 km mark and thought I should give a look into this topic.

Thanks

You'd need to check with SEAT in your country.

I looked on the UK website and it doesn't state intervals. On our Tiguan, VW UK say 40,000 miles for the DSG oil change and 3yrs regardless of mileage for the Haldex. However apparently the dealers don't routinely replace the DSG filter and on the Haldex there's metal gauze screen whoch is part of the pump that should be cleaned - again the dealers don't do that, they just drain and replace the oil.

My old Yeti had its Haldex oil changed at 30,000 miles. Seems reasonable to me considering the stresses involved.

I have the 7 speed DSG - I do believe from the workshop manual that the Haldex oil is changed at 40,000m and DSG oil at 72,000m (120,000km). I also understand that the haldex requires no work to the filter, however perhaps later, say at 80-100,000m it may be wise to clean out the mesh filter. I also believe the DSG filter is long life, so changing it at a later date may again be a wise option!

The dealers have been in contact about changing my DSG and haldex, it has only done 37,500m, so I raised the issue of the mileage (they say 40,000m) in the workshop manual, without a response so far! An important question is raised; how can the owner know for sure that the oil has been changed, especially if it was not required at that earlier stage?

When I bought ours in September - (2017 xcellence 190 tdi) i asked salesman if it was fully serviced at point of sale and he said it was. That was essentially true, but turns out it's due in 21 days, so I've had 6 months out of it. He said all information is held online these days, so I'd no reason to doubt him, but I found a paper copy of service record in the glove box which shows an oil service and inspection carried out in March 2020, but the haldex box wasn't ticked, although the intervals for change I believe are 3 yearly, with dsg 4 yearly or 40k miles. I'm not going to use the dealer, but instead get all oils changed at a friends garage (vag guy). Car has just turned 28.5k miles. I'm a firm believer in regular oil changes based on age as well as mileage. I normally do servicing myself, but as it needs the ECU reset I'll leave it to the professionals - well ones I can trust to do it correctly.

Coming from 2 Audis, bothe DSG and one Haldae... DSG is 38000 miles. Haldex every 3 years. Use a good VAG group independent, not a main dealer. I'm fortunate to have a good local choice, and one even ponies up to get onto the VAG database so can keep the electronic service record up to date.
