Noisy rear brakes when reversing

Sadly not on mine despite the brakes being replaced under warranty.

I had this issue, really embarrassing in car parks!!, reported it to my dealer and turns out it is a known issue with Seat so they had the car in and fixed it, Seat paid. Think it just needed new brake pads if they are anything like the windscreen wipers that they factory fitted to the car they probably used really cheap ones!

According to Hendy SEAT in Brighton "they all do it, can't do anything about it" at service yesterday.

Do you know on what basis they replaced them?

If they've been done under warranty, then likely there's likely a TSB - Technical Service Bulletin - that says something like (very over-simplified): "customer complains of noisy brakes - replace brakes".

Every car has loads of TSBs and dealers often deny they exist.

Yeah mines was. Car was 1 month old when I first realised it was my car making the noise. Taken to dealer in December 2020 they couldnt find an issue but sent technical query to seat. Months of phone calls and car is finally booked in for next friday but women on the phone couldnt tell me what work was being done... Surprisingly mines has hardly made a sound since the temperatures have went above freezing but it was really bad back in December/January so I definitely want the work done as if I leave it, the issue may come back in the winter again.

I've had the car in today for new brake pads on the rear and new pin kit. Dealership sent a technical query to SEAT back in december 2020 as thats when i first noticed it happened on my car, the car was brand new November 2020. Its taken months but SEAT finally got back to them with the above work to do. They are hopeful it will resolved the issue but its a waiting game and I've to report the issue if it happens again after this fix. Stay on at the dealers and get this issue sorted under warranty. You only have 6000 miles or 6 months of warranty on the brakes!
