Experience lux Void under rear bumper

I was trying to get the powered boot to open with the virtual pedal. I bent down to see if I could find the sensor to activate it and saw a large void in the underside of the bumper (presumably where the towbar is stored when not in use?) Should this not have some kind of panel or cover ?? Its open to all elements and theres a couple of electrical connections in view too. Just wondering if everyone else's is the same, or is something missing from mine ??

Exactly the same with mine. Less to get bent when someone hits you from behind.

It's perfectly normal that there's nothing other than the rear crash beam behind / under the flimsy plastic "bumper".

Reason void is there is for towbar. So if you don't have a factory fit towbar you wont have to cut bumper about if retro fit one. Good idea I think, void doesn't show unless you on floor looking for it.

Yeah I know you can't see it unless you are on the floor !!and I probably used the wrong word by calling it a bumper !! My point is ... it is open to the elements and surely it's a trap for water, mud and everything else that your car runs over ! My friends Skoda Karoq is solid underneath.
