I have been offered a great deal on contract hire for a 1.6Tdi Technology and asked if I could have 17" wheels rather than the 18", first because I like the full silver alloys rather than the bicolour wheels and secondly because the 18" spec wheels have 215/50 R18 tyres on which are about as common and easy to find as Rocking horse doo doo, why would SEAT do that? The dealer said No you can't change that, they like you to add as many paid for features and are totally inflexible when you want to change something that doesn't mean they make more cash, pretty crap really. the only 215/50 R18 found on the web are either Falkens or Toyo, I am not saying they are bad makes because they do some good tyres but the 18's available are not top notch in the wet which I think is the most importnat aspect. Most cars usually have options in the manual too to fit a few variations but not for the Ateca strangely enough.
Where in the UK are you roughly? My SE with 17s has landed and will be registered next month. I'm going to remove the 17s almost immediately with plans to fit 18s as I already have preferred tyres, but there might be a workable solution. Send me a message if you prefer.

Should be OK on 4x4. My winters are smaller, but still 235 on 7.5" rim (it's not just about snow).

When looking at the german configuration app it says the 19" are 40 and not 45 profile. Did they change something in the 2018 model?

By calculation, 225/45 19 would be right but an increase in section width to 245 would allow a 40 profile on a 19" rim. And I know that 245s do fit.

I've known of tyre sizing typos before in VAG brochures.

Hello, does anyone of you who bought 2WD Xcellence with 19" rims got 235/40/19 tyres as factory ones?

How is the driving performance 17" vs 19" ?
As mentioned earlier in this thread there are these 3 sizes as standard; 16-17-18"
So is 17" the optimal?
I think 19" would look nice but I dont want to loose performance.

I would say it is noticeable stiffer, but for me it still has more comfort than my +10 years Ford Focus on 16" You can clearly feel a connection with the road ;) It all depends on your preferences. For some people 19" are still ok, for others they will be unacceptable (+/-if you have multi link suspension)

Fitted the winters today. The ride is velvety smooth compared to the knobbly 18s and the speedo is spot-on with the GPS speed in a straight line at 60 mph.

I am trying to find 19" rims with tires fitted. but it is very difficult because any site will only show 40/R19 for Seat Ateca.
From Seats Tech specs. it shows
225/55 R17
225/50 R18
225/45 R19
