Ohh, I see. But Karoq demand will certainly exceed current Yeti demand so there's still some concern for Ateca being given less priority than Skoda's own model.

Someone on the AE website commented Ateca FR is built in Spain and I've also seen here on the forum a member confirming his Ateca was built in Spain too so maybe they've moved some of the production to Martorell already?

I have seen nothing in the Spanish press about building the Ateca in Barcelona. The new Arona goes on sale this week and that will take up any spare capacity and the new Ibiza is also selling very fast.

The same person comments on nearly every AE article spouting absolute dribble and inaccuracies - my bet is AE will probably close public comments because of him/her.

Although the username is different, you can see by the times on that AE article that the last four or five comments have been made by the same person. It's AE's equivalent of Tell. :D

I wish that SEAT would step up a bit on the interior part like Skoda has done.

The even rarer site seems to be the Skoda Kodiaq, only seen 1 so far on the road.

I dont need a bigger boot, also the el.dash is not something I must have - too many displays in my life already. I miss movable rear seats - this is the only thing that bothers me.

Karoq looks much worse than Ateca though.

Wondering if it would be possible to change the current seats to movable ones??

Went in to the Skoda showroom the other day (not for a Karoq!) and had a sneaky wee look around their car as it went out on display.

Thoughts?

Looks quite good head-on but from most other angles it's uglier than the Ateca. Obviously can't comment on driving manners but perceived built-quality is definately a step up. Prefer the instrument binacle in the Ateca, but everything else inside the Karoq is a step up in quality. Just looks a much more expensive car inside, which of course is reflected in the price.

Given the choice today would I rather have my Ateca or an equivelent Karoq? Hard decision. Think I might buy both and try and fit the interior of a Karoq in to the exterior of an Ateca

Whatcar? published this comparison test the other day.

If I was looking at the Ateca now, I would certainly give the Karoq a good look as well. Given that the only thing that still grates a little with the Ateca is the firmness of the ride, the Karoq might win that test for me. Having said this, a test drive might show up some of the Karoq's comparative short comings in handling. I guess I won't know for a few years.

The non-FR Ateca in white looks the business. The only reason I didn't go for it was the cleaning. I have to say that the FR in white looks very fat and dumpy in these test pictures. It's not flattering and the non-FR's really benefit from the contrasting black. Just my personal opinion.
