RR Evoque 2.2 diesel. Nice car but tech not as good as the Ateca in terms of infotainment system, satnav, electronic brake operation and the RR has an annoying position for the dash panel boot release which I always caught with my knee getting into the car xausing me to have to get out and shut the lid. Also connection of music flash drives to the USB sockets could be temperamental in that sometimes they weren't even recognised. No such issues with the Ateca.
2008 Ford Fiesta with diesel engine. Great little car which served me well but I ragged it for 60k miles in about 3 and a half years and it was in need of replacing. Before that a Focus. I looked at the Kuga and Ecosport before buying the Ateca but Ford are a million miles away from Seat's infotainment offering these days and the Seat is way more fun to drive!

So why did you buy an Ateca with the least powerful petrol engine?

Had issues with VRs mainly due to lots of short journeys commuting etc, including replacing costly EGR valve. Decided on a petrol, wanted a SUV and was very impressed with Ateca. Quoted 5-7month wait for a 1.4 or 3-4 weeks for 1.0, quite impressed on test drive and went for it. Will consider a 1.4 next time round, our other car is a Kadjar which has more space, a bigger boot which we use at weekends and holidays.
