Hi all, absolutely gutted! Picked up my brand new Ateca 3 weeks ago and I’ve just noticed it’s been hit (scraped/with scuffs) along the rear panel and bumper. My cars crystal black and it’s scraped with bright yellow paint, must have happened last night as it was on the road outside my home rather than the driveway, and it wasn’t there when I parked up last night.
I’m gutted to say the least but fuming, there’s absolutely no respect for people’s property these days, and I don’t say that as a generation thing. I’m only 25 myself but wouldn’t dream of hitting a car and whizzing off without say so.
Anyway, is there a way I could safely polish this out? I’d likely be taking it to a professional detailer. The majority of the damage looks like light scrathes/scuffs but there’s quite a lot. And there’s one rather deep scratch around an inch or two long which has taken the paint right off and looks too deep to repair with any paint correction.
Trust it to be my luck the one time my dash cam is out of the car!

Can you feel it with your finger nail?
If it is not gone right through a good detailer should be able to polish that out. If not to perfect, then to very close to being non obvious.

Find a local Smart repair specialist. They can fettle or paint. Sounds like £150...
