That’s what warranties are for. Take it back and get them to sort it.

Hi All, I’ve had this issue twice now with my 2017 Ateca 4-Drive. Funnily enough it’s booked in today for a software update so am going to query it with the main dealer as I believe it has a 3 year warranty, so still covered. I wash it regularly and have checked after hosing it down.. Nothing. But I’m assuming after yesterday’s howling winds and rain, it’s getting in somewhere. Very frustrating as it was expensive and it just shouldn’t happen. The first time the boot well was literally pooled with water..!! Today just very wet.. 😕

I had the same problem with mine. Dealer replaced the rubber washer where the rear wiper goes through the rear window, and never leaked since.

My nearest dealer was useless. I didn’t buy the car from them but they sent me to an independent body shop that isn’t even Seat Approved..!! They were actually very helpful, but I have just emailed Seat UK to ask where I go from here. It’s still happening, it’s (slowly) getting in somewhere. How did you get on..??

Hi, did you ever fix this problem, I have the same issue on a 2019 ateca, water coming in from that extact location. It pools in spare wheel well but the boot carpet isn't wet so I don't know where it comes in from.
Did you get this resolved Richard..??

@radioactiveKiddie they investigated and first said theres no leak. I said they need to look harder. Then told me the waters getting in from the petrol tank as the seals aren't on properley. So the gap around the petrol flap. They have ordered a whole new unit. And once received will swap it. I suggest you tell them to check your petrol tank flap as it may be the same. Il keep you updated!!

Thank you very much, it’s appreciated. I have heard back from Seat UK who have passed it on to a relevant dept. Now waiting to hear from them. I will try a hose around the petrol flap as I did around the rear wiper base (no water in boot after that). I don’t mind doing a bit of groundwork before returning the car. Be easier to be able to say ‘I believe this is the problem..’ Thanks again..
