If you can hold and know how to use a screwdriver then it is easy. Yes, you need to remove the wheels otherwise you wont be able to screw them in place ( unless you have very small tools)

While on the subject of mudflaps do the Seat original mudflaps for the Ateca fit all models? Thought I read somewhere that they were different for the FR versions?

You only need to remove the rear wheels. Turning the front wheels provides sufficient access.

You will need to remove rear wheels to get access as mentioned above. In addition you will need to drill a few small holes to accommodate clips

Fitted oem ones myself. Not to hard to do it. You will need to drill some small holes. Took about 1h for the full job and I took my time.

You all make it sound that easy. I will buy the mud flaps off EBay and fit them myself. Thanks again for your help.

I ordered front and rear flaps on my new 2.0 TSi, but the dealer (NZ's only SEAT agent) advised they wouldn't fit. Are there specific mudflaps available for the FR?

Having had telephone conversations with the parts manager of Lister Seat of Worcester, I was informed that if there is no body kit mud flaps can be fitted to an FR. On the strength of this I ordered a full set for mine. On arrival, I found the fronts fitted, but the rear ones did not match the rear bumper skin. As with other FR models in the Seat range, they use a different shape of skin on the rear bumper.
Although i had some hassle with these flaps, I must praise Listers on their mail order service (ordered on Wednesday, refunded by Friday with the flaps awaiting courier collection).

If you look at the SEAT website and bring up mudflaps, It says "Not applicable to Ateca FR"
