Dsg 1.4tsi

Post by WillGir » Mon May 07, 2018 6:37 pm

On reviewing the German Ateca forum, there are lots of topics about owners facing problems with DSG ,however there are few comments here on the subject. Shall we fear any failures after certain kilometers???

It was a nightmare with my previous golf mk6, i hope the Ateca DSG is way better...

Please advise

No need to alarm people! Am a member of the German Forum as well as to this. There are just a few topics on problematic DSG's, constitute the exception and not the norm. Some problems that occurred are known to VAG/Seat and have been repaired without making much "noise". In the topics, one indicates a possible problem, ten indicate that they are satisfied with theirs. Myself, am in the latter group...

I read the threads over at the other forum and one suggested it was a bolt that was torqued too tightly at the factory and that loosening it slightly will cure all of the problems. Not sure if that is true or not. I'm not questioning the poster who stated this was the fix, I'm questioning Google Translate!

In any case, I'm ordering a 2.0TDI DSG and this doesn't worry me.
