Front Internal Pillar Removal

Post by Rae9911 » Mon Aug 06, 2018 9:04 pm

Hi everyone

Does anyone know how to remove the front internal pillar covers so that I can fit the hard wire kit for the dash cam I have just purchased?

Any pictures or video would be appreciated.

On the general subject of dash cams, It is worth noting that if you are planning trips to Europe, dash cams in some countries are illegal to use and in some they are even illegal to own! Always check this before you take a foreign trip.

Hi

I fitted mine myself, its quite simple, I found instructions elsewhere on the forum. All the trim came off pretty easily (and went back the same)

Also worth noting its worth having a set of cheap trim removal tools (I got some of Amazon for a few quid) to avoid any scratches/dents etc,

I would advise NOT to disconnect the passenger airbag switch, I did as it made it a bit easier to work in that area, but after re-connection I had an airbag warning fault. Dealer diagnosed a faulty switch and replaced under warranty, coincidence or not I don't know, but worth bearing in mind in case it happens (others on the forum suggested that if you do anything involving the airbag system, even just removing and re-connecting a switch it flags up a fault which they need to re-set at the very least)

Good luck
