I'm struggling to get anything over the 350 Mile mark. I've put the setting in Eco and Normal but no difference there.
my average is around 35 at best 38 mpg. I don't drive the car hard or do anything crazy to it. Had the car now for 2 months.
Ateca 1.5 EcoTSI, 110 KW DSG.
Even put the setting to Manual mode and this is when i achieved the 38 mpg. motorway speed is 65 mph for most of the trip or 60 mpg with the acc enable. Ac is off as well. So i'm a bit disappointed to be honest with the range.

Ateca 1.5 EcoTSI, DSG with 19" wheels.
I've done 600 miles from new. On my 3rd tank of fuel. I'm only managing 29mpg in Manual mode.
Not great!

What are Km??

When I fill mine it normally shows around 500m on the range, but I never go as far as checking if that's what I get!!

I don't drive very economically and have it on sport a lot...
I've never been one for mpg, for me you put it in and use it for what you need, and it gives what it gives!!

It’s one of the things I don’t like about the Ateca , the LED fuel gauge. I much prefer a needle. I don’t like the way it jumps down 1/8 tank at a time. Makes it not very accurate. So much for high tech , sometimes low tech (analogue) is better.
Same!!!
Dislike the fuel gauge very much!!
We measure trips by "squares.."
Went to Cornwall last wknd, got all the way there on two squares!!
My wife comes in and says there's only one white square on the fuel if you using the car tmrw...

Seat Ateca Xcellence 1.5 TSI. Last check 330 miles (531km) on a tank. Pretty disappointed but maybe get better when I've done more miles (1650 at present).

My 2002 Toyota Corrolla did 38 mpg on the worst of days, I averaged 40-42mpg. Complaints on this thread are hardly surprising. I was looking at buying a Focus 1.0 engine which gets rave performance reviews, but owners say mpg is mid to low 30's. I bought a 2017 Astra 1.6 litre petrol and mpg over 2 years is now 38mpg with 60:40 mix of motorway and city driving. For a long time it was 36mpg. Not great for a supposed new and modern powertrain.

So-called new efficient engines with turbo are pants for efficiency, and laggy when it comes to response and speed. My last car was a 2016 4 series BMW 3 litre diesel that did 0-60s in 5.4s and seemed to have unlimited torque. Over 3 years it got 38mpg - and that's 75% city driving for school runs and supermarket shops etc. On trips to Scotland (600+ miles) we got well in to the mid 40s. So you wonder, why bother with a small engine? It's like the worst of both worlds! The bureaucrats like the figures on paper regardless of the reality.

1.5tsi DSG got 410 miles out of it the other day. That was fully loaded with kid/dog and wife for a weekend away. Round my local area with little trips about 370-380 miles.

If they could just fix the low down power issue at cold its a perfect little engine.

So far I'm showing 44mpg average over 400 miles so I'm supposing just over 600 Km since we got the Ateca 2.0Ltr Tdi but that is mostly urban driving. I'm being careful with the 'running in', Eco setting on, no hard acceleration, no high revs. I was advised years ago by a VW engine specialist on a VW forum to do this with our VW Touran and Jetta both with the 2.0Ltr Tdi engines and neither have used oil between services and still run as sweet as a sweet thing though the Jetta has now gone off to a friend who knew the car and is very happy with it. I read at that time about these engines using a lot of oil if not run in gently and they both have served us well over twelve years, the Touran getting 47mpg average over the last 2500 miles and into the mid 50s on a run, the Jetta was sometimes incredable with an average of 57mpg over 2000 miles and could sometimes get just over 70mpg on a run. As an aside, I've always used a branded fuel like BP or Shell as I found supermarket diesel reduced the economy by upto 5mpg, which I figured to be a false economy.
With these MPG figures I'm hoping for good results eventually from the 2Ltr Ateca but..... With all the enviromental bits on modern engines I'm not holding my breath.

Hi All
Just wondering if anyone can give me idea how thirsty the 2.0tsi DSG is? My 1.8tsi Ibiza Cupra manual does about 32-33mpg, but sinks to about 25mpg with some spirited driving. My previous Cupra had the 1.4tsi twincharge DSG was excellent just cruising, around 40mpg+ and would drop to 20mpg with same spirited driving. So I'm used to being constantly at the petrol station, but with a combined figure of 32/33mpg would like to know what people are getting in the real world?
