Hi guys, just taken delivery of a 2023 Ateca SE Tech, and first weekend infotainment system going crazy rebooting constantly cycling from blank screen to Seat logo then blank again, occasionally it gets to the radio and you get music for 10-30 seconds then it reboots again.

Have also noticed when its doing this the screen has some unusual flickering and wavy lines as if the images are not in line with the display (bit like when you used to try tune in analogue tv) and this is a sign its going to go into its crazy mode.

2 weeks in its done it on 4 occasions, stopping the car and locking it unlocking it again doesnt cure it, eventually at the end of each journey at some point whilst parked it cures itself but its just not good enough on a brand new car and seems to be a known fault......come on VW you can do better than this.

Just sold a 2022 Sandero after a year to upgrade to the Ateca, the Sandero never missed a beat or had a single fault but was too small for me. So far with this Ateca :

1. Infotainment system issues
2. Was delivered with a cut in the leather of the steering wheel.....but as you cannot notice this until you first drive it (its at top dead centre so until you do a tight turn you dont feel it) they wont do any thing about it as "I could have done it the first mile I drove it".....infuriating !!
3. On the M25 concrete section eastbound A3 to M23 the dashboard rattles like an electric razor, constantly, fast VERY IRRITATING.....Seats response "not our problem that you use that part of the m25 and we wont investigate it because its not close to the dealer". Wont accept videos of the issue or even entertain the thought there is something wrong. I have driven this road for 20+ years in everything from a VW Up to a Merc SL and everything in between and yes that section always generates a lot of tyre noise, but in this Ateca it sets off a resonance that is totally unacceptable.

NOT IMPRESSED BY SEAT AT ALL.

I may be guessing here but when it does stay on for longer than ten seconds as soon as it shows the world symbol top right as if connected to Seat it will instantly go off.
Other times you’ll get the seat logo with the radio and then it will reboot.

So my month old Ateca on two spectate occasions has decided it wants to reboot the system over and over.

I may be guessing here but when it does stay on for longer than ten seconds as soon as it shows the world symbol top right as if connected to Seat it will instantly go off.

I’ve driven 3 hours and had no issue before now. Tonight done an 8 mile journey and had it all the way home rebooting.

I know this isn’t a new thing for seat/VAG but is there a fix?
I am having the same issue, New April 2023, Seat have now confirmed that to solve the issue it will require a software update that at present is not available. Requesting that Seat replace my car until the problem is solved. Iam increasing without the radio, phone, navigation system.

It looks like all the new cars are having this issue

Not sure how it is iniciated , it just goes down then tries to reboot , comes back at anytime and goes down again, the cycle then continues until the engine is turned off.

Complaint has been lodged with the ombudsman, if nothing other than to be pain, apparently the investigation will take until the 27th July though I’m not sure what there is to look into. The car was sold this way and they must have numerous complaints. The service manager herself said that their staff cars were having the same issue.

Just to add my voice to this annoyance too... I have a 69 plate Ateca (I've had it since 2020) and I think this crashing must happen at least once a day. I've just driven a 12 mile round trip this morning and the system crashed twice during this journey. It's definitely got worse / more frequent. It used to only do it once in a blue moon.

I've not tried asking my local dealer for software updates though - maybe I'll try that, in case there's been an update since 2019.

Hi

i Have just been informed that the software is now available , became available on the 13th June 2023

Hi
The June software update is only part of the issue and doesn’t solve the rebooting issue alone.
There is now also a screen driver update that is being applied to my car next week.
Been chasing this issue now for 12 months!
Fingers crossed.

I had the update applied to my 22 plate Ateca today … went to pick up the car and within 2mins it started rebooting again ! So drove back and told them to which the manager said ; “with this there are mini updates that will be happening in background still so if you still experience this in a week then bring it back!” They was very adamant that the update they applied would solve the issue …. I have little confidence- I’m so frustrated and I’m stuck with this car now given interest rates have gone up I can’t get another!

I had the update, the car still has the issue. I have received goodwill but I am now pursuing rejection.

Edit: my car is now occasionally showing sensor errors for the lane assist and parking. The car is cleanand conditions are fine so no reason they should be showing as impaired.

If you don't mind me asking, what do they mean by goodwill. My 5 week old Ateca is going in again on Monday.
