1. Does anyone out there in the SEATosphere have any experience of linking their Android smartphone (mine's a Samsung A70) to Android Auto (in 2019 Ateca XL), using a WiFi dongle in one of the USB ports instead of usb cable to Phone?

2. What is the purpose of Mirrorlink?

MirrorLink, as the name states, is a screen mirroring tehnology. With it, you can mirror your phone's screen to car display. But it's not as straightforward as it sounds. Most MirrorLink compatible phones do not do it by default, they only mirror apps that are compatible with that system. Some phones, on the other hand, will mirror the phone screen by just turning on some switch in the settings (or so I've heard). I found it pretty useless. I tested it with one navigation app, and the screen goes blank everytime you set off . You have to stop the car again in order to see the screen again. Not much of app support, either.

Android Auto ja Apple CarPlay do not mirror phone screen, they just to draw a sort of "alternate version" of the app screen to the car display. And only some apps support those systems.
