I'm the same it's frustrating.

 

Then you're probably better off either googling beforehand to find a street - after all a postcode can cover quite a large area - or using CarPlay or Android Auto and using a post code input.

 

I have to say that, compared with earlier Seat Sat Navs, the current version seems designed to be confusing and unhelpful. Must be my age. The answer to your query (on my 2021 FR anyway) is to type the postcode you want into the top address line. You seem to have to remember to put in the space between postcode elements but otherwise it comes up with the address and postcode and you just confirm. Hope this helps.

 

From memory if you select "New Destination" and then press "City" you can then put in the postcode.

I agree it's not very clear or intuitive, but i have been using mine since April and it does get easier........honest!
